Day 02: At Kathmandu – Sightseeing
|
After breakfast, begin sightseeing tours of the Kathmandu Valley's significant religious and cultural heritage sites.
Pashupatinath temple, dedicated to Lord Shiva, the destroyer. The temple is one of the holiest in Hinduism. According to the Hindu Scriptures, during a struggle between Lord Shiva and Lord Vishnu, the protector, the horn of Shiva, in the form of a deer, was broken and flew to the spot where the temple now stands. Small ashrams and shrines surround the main temple, while the entire area is adorned with intricately carved wooden architecture.
Beside the temple, the holy river Bagmati flows, where Hindu cremations are performed. After the final ritual, the river is believed to guide the souls to the afterlife. The spiritual scene is a testament to Hindu devotion.
Boudhanath Stupa – In the vibrant city of Kathmandu, Boudhanath offers a peaceful and serene atmosphere unlike any other. The largest Buddhist dome in the world has many myths behind its establishment, each more interesting than the next. A spiritual scene unfolds as devotees circle the dome, adorned with prayer flags and prayer wheels, while Buddhist chants echo throughout and the scent of incense fills the vicinity. Charming handicraft shops, art galleries, cafes, and restaurants surround the dome, giving it a distinctly Tibetan feel, hence it's also known as Little Tibet.
Bhaktapur Durbar Square is a UNESCO World Heritage Site renowned for its well-preserved medieval architecture. Bhaktapur Durbar Square is a beautifully preserved ancient city known for its traditional Newari architecture, temples, courtyards, and rich cultural heritage. Explore Bhaktapur Durbar Square, Nyatapola Temple, Pottery Square, and the charming narrow alleys.
After the visit, the group returns to the hotel. The evening will be free at leisure.

Day 03: At Kathmandu - Sightseeing
|
After breakfast, we will start the sightseeing tour historic Kathmandu Durbar Square, an old palace courtyard. Although the UNESCO heritage site was mainly refined in the 16th century during the Malla Kings, archaeologists have found some of the architecture dating back to as early as the 4th century. Besides the palace, even temples and houses are built in traditional Nepalese architecture and decorated with intricate arts and ornately carved windows. Hanuman Dhoka Palace, Taleju Mandir, Kasthamandap, and the sacred residence of the living goddess Kumari are some of the most prominent attractions on the site.
Swayambhunath Temple – popularly known as the Monkey Temple, the hillside Buddhist stupa overlooks the Kathmandu Valley with the eyes of compassion and the wisdom of the Buddha. It is believed that the monastery predated the establishment of the Valley, and rather than being built, it appeared after the valley’s water was diverted for the settlement, hence the name “Swayam-bhu-nath,” meaning “Self-Existed.” It's of the most essential Buddhist pilgrimages, featuring a monastery that teaches young monks about the Buddha’s philosophy, as well as a museum showcasing sacred Buddhist scriptures and artifacts.
We will then continue our sightseeing tour towards Patan Durbar Square.
Patan Durbar Square – An ancient palace of the kings of the Kathman du Valley, the paved courtyard is filled with beautiful temples, traditional houses, and monasteries, each with intricate woodwork and paintings that depict the artistic richness of ancient Nepalese culture. Along with the charming architecture, there are different historic events and interesting myths hidden in every corner. Golden Temple and Krishna mandir are some of the most beautiful tourist attractions, while Pimbahal – a pond that hides the story of love between a demon and a human girl charms us through the trip.
